World Championships 2023 - Review

4th August, 2023

With the conclusion of the World Aquatics Championships, Oliver ended up finishing with 2x 9th place finishes in the Men's 100m Backstroke and 200m Backstroke as well as a 5th place finish in the Men's 4x100m Medley Relay - provisionally qualifying the GB team for the Olympic Games in Paris next year.

Oliver says:

" The World championships in Fukuoka will be an experience I’ll never forget. Being my first world championships representing Great Britain, it was absolutely unbelievable to get a chance to race the best in the world, but also to go in and challenge every swim. Coming away with two 9th placed finishes and 5th in the Medley relay (being 3rd after my leg) was fantastic. The confidence I was able to take into each swim, being able to put all my race processes together was a credit to the prep me and my team have done, and to be able to walk out being a part of the Great British Medley relay was a dream come true! Looking forward to getting back to training and looking at the road to Paris 2024! "
