My Story
I started swimming lessons at the age of 4 at SpArC, Bishops Castle and by the age of 10, I joined Ludlow Swimming Club and began swimming competitively with them.
I moved to the University of Birmingham at the age of 18 to train with Gary Humpage. I have gone from strength to strength making huge progressions in all of my events. In my first season, I was crowned BUCS Champion in the 100m Backstroke, I also went on to make 2 finals at the British Swimming Championships in April that year and won 2 Silver Medals at the British Summer Nationals that summer.
In the Autumn of 2022, I got my first international call up by British Swimming where I represented GB at the Fina World Cup in Indianapolis, USA. In the Winter, I competed at the Swim England Winter Nationals where I became the English Champion in the 100m Backstroke and came 3rd in the 200m Backstroke and 4th in the 50m Backstroke.
In April of 2023, I competed in the British Swimming Trials where I became a 3x British champion, completing the Backstroke treble winning all 3 backstroke events (50, 100 & 200m Backstroke). This also earned me a spot on the British Swimming World Championships Team where I will now represent Great Britain in the summer of 2023.
Following my successes at the British Swimming Championships in 2023, I went on to place 9th in the world for both the 100m and 200m Backstroke and came 5th with the GB team in the Men's 4x100m Medley Relay. My swimming went from strength to strength as I picked up a silver medal at the European Short Course Swimming Championships later that year.
Now in 2024, I competed at the Olympic Trials event in London and placed first in both the 100m and 200m Backstroke, breaking Liam Tancock's British Record in the 100m Backstroke along the way. On top of that, I have also qualified for my first Olympic Games, and am a 5 times British Champion now.
